After completing school at Wynberg Boys’ High School in Cape Town, South Africa in 1988, Andrew enrolled at a private advertising college, Art Directors Workshop in 1989. He completed this 2 year course with a Top Student Award in 1990. While studying there he was involved with advertising agencies Ogilvy & Mather and Young & Rubicam in an Art Director’s assistant capacity.
In 1992 Andrew completed his National Service at Naval Base Simonstown as Designer to the Navy News Magazine. Completing graphic design duties for the SA Navy.
Andrew began his career and entered the commercial race in 1993.
As a start he joined Young & Rubicam, Hedley-Byrne as a Visualiser, working on Pick ‘n Pay as his main client portfolio. He was also introduced and drawn to Apple Mac and the wonders of Desk Top Publishing, sensing the future in it and investing energy in it.
Next was a stint at Lewis Stores Marketing Division, implementing the major multi-page layout program at the time QuarkXpress. He was involved with Lewis Stores' target market growth into South Africa's surrounding neighbor countries.
He has also traveled overseas for a while working in Knightsbridge, London as a filing clerk in a law firm!!
His most recent full-time position was as Graphic Designer to the Two Oceans Aquarium in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
His love of all forms of design including industrial and interior design and all forms of music from Mozart to Metallica, Architecture, Cooking, Philosophy, Photography, Books & Magazines including beauty in its many forms and various guises drives him on after setbacks and then break-throughs that are common in all of us.
He continues to love and be loved by his first love, graphic & web design, people, his cat Gizzy, and caffeinated drinks be them hot or cold whatever the weather...
